Between Gas and Electric R C Helicopter: "Rc helicopter has become one of the more popular “boy toys” that hit and hit big. Its popularity is not surprising at all. Imagine fulfilling your dream of flying an aircraft without spending too much. And most of all: without leaving your foot off the ground. Now that’s a good plus factor if you simply don’t want to risk your life flying with a spinning rotor above your head.
Rc helicopter usually come in either gas or electric powered. Here are the things you should know about the two:
Electric rc Helicopter – If you are a novice rc enthusiast, then the most advisable thing to buy is the electric rc helicopter. The reasons are simple. Electric rc helicopter is simpler than other types of rc helicopters especially the gas rc’s. With the electric, you don’t have to deal with the engine and the gas it will consume. You would not need to have proper knowledge about mechanics just to make it fly. You don’t have to spend a lot of time reader the manual just to understand how it works. And if the helicopter fails, you don’t have to figure out how to fix it.
If you are thinking that electric rc helicopter would not fly for long then you should change you perspective. Most modern electric rc’s are powered by lithium batteries and coupled with brushless motors. This makes it fly much longer. In fact it can out last some of the gas rc’s.
And last thing: It is quiet on air thus you cannot disturb other’s privacy.
Gas rc Helicopter – A more experienced rc helicopter pilot prefers gas powered rc helicopters for several reasons. One is, flying gas rc helicopter flies like flying a full-size helicopter since the sound that the engine creates can trigger excitement. Oh! You might think that it is quite absurd. But no! The sound of the engine makes it more exciting to fly. Another reason is that gas rc helicopter is more complicated that keeps its pilot more addicted with it. Why? This is because the pilot is not only limited to flying the helicopter alone. Pilot is involved with how the mechanics of the RC. This gives him more reason to become excited on the RC."

Pros And Cons Of Electric RC Helicopter
Pros And Cons Of Electric RC Helicopter: "Electric rc Helicopter - If you are a novice rc enthusiast, then the most advisable thing to buy is the electric rc helicopter. The reasons are simple. It is simpler than other types of rc helicopters especially the gas rc's. With the electric, you don't have to deal with the engine and the gas it will consume. You would not need to have proper knowledge about mechanics just to make it fly. You don't have to spend a lot of time reader the manual just to understand how it works. And if the helicopter fails, you don't have to figure out how to fix it.
If you are thinking that it would not fly for long then you should change you perspective. Most modern electric rc's are powered by lithium batteries and coupled with brushless motors. This makes it fly much longer. In fact it can out last some of the gas rc's.
Pros - It is one of the more favorable kinds of rc helicopters out there in the market for several reasons.
It is easy to fly - If you are beginning to take interest on rc helicopters, then the best way to a good start is to buy an electric rc helicopter. It is easy to fly since it only requires batteries for power. You don't have to deal with engines and engine malfunction. You also don't have to buy gas to make it fly and the knowledge about how engines work. You don't need to tinker complicated moving parts since there is none. All you need to know is where the controls and your rc is flying in no time.
It is quiet - Other rc helicopters, especially the gas powered, create a lot of noise. And this is often times annoying not only to you but also on your neighbor who wants to get some quiet moment alone. Thus, you cannot fly them around your neighborhood. The good thing about electric rc helicopter is that it creates no noise at all. Without an engine, your rc will fly silently anywhere you want it to fly without disturbing the peace.
It is safe - Batteries are generally safe to use. This also goes with electric rc helicopter. All you have to do is to recharge it when it is empty and it will be off again in the air. You don't have to deal with flammables and you don't have to deal with engine at all.
Cons - Just like any other products, electric rc helicopter has its drawbacks. The experience is less exciting - Full-size helicopters have engines and no helicopter is powered by electric current. So you cannot get a helicopter-like experience if wit electric rc helicopters. The engine noise adds up to the experience. Without it, it may be boring.
Activity is limited - With electric rc helicopter, all you have to do is charge, fly, re-charge, fly, re-charge again, and fly again. Until you get to hate it. Like what was said earlier, you are limited to flying. Aside to that, no more.
Other RC like gas rc helicopter is more than flying, you get to tinker with the engine and in the process, get more excited every time you fly."

Thunder Tiger CORP. -- rc world : Helicopter (2)
What is Gyro......
Helicopter has a big Rotor Blades on top; the body itself will naturally turn to the opposite side(counterclockwise) of the rotor blades rotation's (normally clockwise). This could be avoided or stopped by increasing the pitch of the tail rotor blades to create an anti-force. Slight changes in the pitch or throttle control will change the amount of anti-force needed to hold the helicopter still. The Gyro is the device designed to assist the tail into solving this prob-lem. It detects any slight changes on the tail and auto matically provides a quick anti-force compensation; this will give the pi;ot the peace of mind to concentrate on other controls of the helicopter.A Gyro system is composed of 2 parts, one is Gyro itself the other is Gyro ain; they are installed between the receiver and rudder servo. Due to the quick compensation on the tail rotor pitch, a speed Gyro servo might be necessary to be installed on your gyro system. normally Gyro is either locatedin the front or rear of the helicopter body. It has to use quality double-sided tape to secure it in place. If gyro becomes lossen during flight, crash will be inevitavle. Some people might wonder, how can a heli be flown without a gyro? The answer is a resounding'NO'; never try flying a helicopter without installation of a Gyro, as it can be extremely danger-ous if you do so.There are a lot of Gyro available on the market, and prices can range from USD150 to 400, with heading lock founction or non-n-heading lock. If you would like to try 3D aerobatic a better Gyro system is needed.

Picoo Z – The World’s Smallest RC Helicopter » TFTS – Technology, Gadgets & Curiosities
Picoo Z – The World’s Smallest RC Helicopter » TFTS – Technology, Gadgets & Curiosities: "The moment I came across this product my heart skipped a beat. Now this could be due to one of two things, the first being that I’m soon to depart this mortal coil and the second – which, frankly, is my personal preference – being that this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in at least the last few hours.
The Picoo Z Remote control Helicopters are not only the lightest commercially available RC helicopter in the world, but it is also the smallest – being no bigger than the palm of your hand – which means that you can fly it around your front room, or even upstairs (no doubt on a secret CIA mission extract the wife from the laundry basket).
What seals this for me, however, is the price – which came as quite a surprise.
You can read more about this rather wonderful device, as well as view a video of it in action, after the jump.
The Picoo z Micro Helicopter, which is constructed from expanded Polypropylene, weighs in at a mere 10 grams and measures only six inches in length and not only does it fly exactly like its far more expensive counterparts but it also has a working blue LED strobe light (and as regular readers of TFTS will know, anything with a blue LED is a must have as far as this site is concerned).
Unlike its larger counterparts, however, the Picoo Z also incorporates an auto-stability system that should, in theory, allow even the most novice of users to at least take off before smashing into a wall."

5 Reasons Why Electric RC Helicopters Are So Appealing
5 Reasons Why Electric RC Helicopters Are So Appealing: "RC Helicopters capture people's interest since their very first inception. They stand as one of the most fascinating field of the RC hobby world. Very few can resist its charm. Nevertheless, not too long ago they also carried an extremely heavy price tag and required more maintenance than a ten-years-old car. To make matters worse, flying one required countless hours of practice and tremendous amount of patience. However, all that is about to change. With the introduction of electric RC helicopters, flying these amazing models are not as far-fetched as they used to be. Here are five reasons why:
1. Low Cost:
Flying RC Helicopter used to set people back thousands of dollars. People had to buy the helicopter kit (which comes in hundred small pieces - unassembled), servos, engine, starter, gyro, receiver, radio controller, a hundred other equipments, and of course - fuel. When everything has been purchased, you still have to assemble it!
On the other hand, electric helicopters almost always cost less than 200 dollars with cheaper but better versions coming out regularly. Even better, most of these helicopters come ready to fly right out of the box. In addition to that, every necessary equipments and accessories often come included as well. Finally, by using batteries, the running cost of these helicopters is greatly reduced as it is no longer necessary to buy gallons after gallons of gas.
2. Silent and Clean:
RC Helicopters might be amongst the most fascinating radio controlled models, however, one undeniable fact still stands against it; they make more noise and create more pollution than a breaking down truck. This makes flying around the neighborhood almost impossible.
The problem of noise, pollution and size is almost entirely eliminated with the electric models; the amount of noise greatly decreased while the amount of pollution vanished altogether. These two facts allows these machines to fly anywhere without causing too much annoyance to other people.
3. Reliable and Easy to Fly:
With gas helicopters, countless crashes occur not because of pilot errors, but because the engine fail in midair. Who's to blame? After all, everybody knows that gas engines aren't the most reliable thing in the world. They also notoriously require constant tinkering to run smoothly. On the other hand, electric helicopters fly undeniably more reliable. They almost never cut out in mid air, even when the battery runs down. Moreover, you can forget about having to crank up the engine over and over. These electric motors will run anytime anywhere as long as there's battery. There's nothing more frustrating than taking your helicopter to the field only to find that it won't start because it is too cold, too humid, or just because the engine wants to act up.
Electric helicopter are generally easier to fly than gas models, making them ideal for beginners. Some model allows beginner to start out with only 2 or 3 channels to worry about as oppose to 6 or 7 that the gas model requires. Avid pilots won't have to worry though, as professional fully 3D-capable electric models also exist.
4. Easy to Maintain:
Maintenance used to be one of the biggest hurdles for anyone wanting to start flying RC helicopters. Thankfully, electric RC helicopters tremendously decreased the amount of repairs required. These little wonders were specifically designed to keep the amount of fixing necessary to minimum. Therefore, repairs can usually be made with just the bare hands or with only one screw driver. Even more impressive is the fact that these types of helicopter rarely need repairing at all. They can survive most types of crashes without any problem.
5. Small Size:
Before electric helicopters, indoor flights and flights in your own backyard were next to impossible. Now, they are quick and easy. Newer versions are so small that even flying in the bedroom is possible. The smaller size of these helicopter means that it is easier to transport as well. However, for pilots who prefer big aircrafts, there are electric helicopters as big as.50 size gas models available.
The advantage of flying electric RC helicopter does not end with these five points. With new technologies becoming available, these aircrafts are improving at surprising speed. All in all, it is not hard to see why electric RC helicopters are the fastest growing field of RC hobby."

Choosing a Remote Controlled Helicopter That's Easy to Fly!
Choosing a Remote Controlled Helicopter That's Easy to Fly!: "When choosing a RC helicopter it is important not to pick one that you can't handle. Stick with the basics and keep in mind what your budget is as well as how much spare parts are. Some RC helicopters come with spare parts, these are good in case you have to change a blade if you crash. There are a few things you can do to avoid crashes which can cost you, first is to practice on a RC helicopter simulator. A simulator will help you gain better flight skills and build more confidence. Second you can attach a crash kit, this kit will allow your RC helicopter to take a harder crash if it happens as it protects your helis landings, but it's not completely fool proof."
Important First Steps in Flying Radio Controlled Helicopters
Important First Steps in Flying Radio Controlled Helicopters: "There are several steps in the learning process of flying radio controlled helicopter. They can be classified as pre-flight steps, basic hovering steps, advanced hovering skills, learning various types of acrobatics in flying the RC helicopters, and mastering the steps of 3D flight control. It is important that you learn all these steps patiently and master them if you wish to become an expert operator of radio controlled helicopter."
Electric RC Helicopters And Their Increasing Demands - Article
Electric RC Helicopters And Their Increasing Demands - Article: "Aviation has been one subject which has continued to be a great source of interest for adventurers and aircraft enthusiasts all over the world for the past century. Enthusiasts all over the world love to fly aircraft of all types. While many have had the privilege to become airborne with the help of one type of aircraft or the other, there are some who fulfill their dreams with smaller flying models. These are small aircrafts made out of lightweight material and fitted with an engine and a remote control device. Helicopters are a particularly favorite type of aircraft in this league of remote controlled aircraft. Electric RC helicopters are a sub-part of this type and they are famous because of the advantages provided by the electric engine.A single-rotor R/C helicopter consists of a main and tail rotor. The 2 rotors work together to control the stability and maneuverability of the helicopter. Many pilots who are proficient in flying a dual-rotor or coaxial rotor R/C helicopters find single-rotor models a little different."
How to Fly an RC Helicopter - A Quick Lesson
How to Fly an RC Helicopter - A Quick Lesson: "Now with a 2 channel you begin to notice the helicopter will fly in seemingly random directions. It's not random at all, but very specific to the weight balance of the RC helicopter and the blade angle. In a 4 channel you control this balance with more control directions as well as carefully managing the weight. On your 2 channel you need to test out different weights and positions to find the right balance for the small copter. Experiment, this will be good practice before you lift off your 6 channel machine. With the right setup and practice you will be able to perform a good hover with your 2 channel at different heights. You'll be able to descend to a hover and take off to a hover just inches above the ground while keeping the body in place with the tail rotor."

Best and Safest Toys for Kids - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com: "Everyone enjoys receiving gifts. Nobody seems to enjoy it more than children. Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind when shopping for kids toys is safety. Here are perhaps the most important things to think about when shopping for that special little someone in your
life.
When purchasing a toy for a child all good searches should begin with warning labels and age recommendations. This will tell you immediately if you are looking in the right department and category for a particular child. This is probably the most vital piece of information to share with friends who are shopping for kids toys but don't have children of their own.
Select toys to suit the age, abilities, skills and interest level of the intended child. Toys too advanced may pose safety hazards to younger children. In addition to such hazards it will likely cause frustration on the part of the child which in turn could lead to additional opportunity for injury."

The Organization of Kids' Toys
The Organization of Kids' Toys: "If there are children in your household, then a birthday is sure to mean lots of toys. If you're like most families, you have spent the weeks prior to the big day dashing about town, running from one store to the next, looking for the perfect toys. Do you know what kids toys to buy? How much should you spend on them? And what about the toys that your children already have?
Shopping for kids toys should be done with care. Take the time to look through sale ads, clip coupons, check out stores each week, and even shop online to find the best deals on the must-haves for each year.
We have a rule in our household, and the rule is that we do a miniature 'spring cleaning' in the weeks leading up to one child's birthday. The common areas and bathrooms are easy enough; it's the kids' bedrooms that give us trouble. With so many kids toys strewn about, it's hard to know where to start. But the easiest thing to do is grab two trash bags. One bag will hold broken and old toys that are ready to be discarded, and the other bag will collect those kids toys that can be donated to charities and shelters."
