A Brand New Big Electric RC Helicopter - The Hurricane 550

Electric RC helicopters are becoming more and more popular everyday. However, one of their main criticisms is that they lack of big models. Most electric RC helicopters are of the 400 size, which are not even as big as .30 size nitro helicopters - the smallest kind. Electric RC helicopter pilots who wanted to fly bigger models had pretty much only one model to choose - the T-REX 600 which although performs extremely well, comes with a hefty price tag. Now, from the production line of GAUI, maker of many successful models such as the Zoom and the Shogun, comes another model to fill the void in the big electric helicopter market: the Hurricane 550. With a much lower price, the Hurricane 550 will undoubtedly provide pilots who want to try their hands on a big electric model helicopter with a promising alternative.
In The Box:
The Hurricane 550 comes as an ARF (almost ready to fly) kit and claims to be 95% pre-assembled from the factory. You still to install the radio receiver, servos, and the gyro - a task which usually takes at least an hour for beginners. Nevertheless, the main frame, the head set, and the tail come already assembled. The frame is made of a plastic composite material which is strong and durable. The way that each pieces are put together should is quite impressive. Although the model is pre-assembled, the manual provides a comprehensive instruction on how to completely rebuild it from scratch. This is very thoughtful as lacking these instructions would make extensive repairs a daunting task.
The canopy comes already pre-painted. For many people who painting is not their strongest trait, this canopy is great news. On the other hand, others who enjoy airbrushing their own helicopter may be less appreciative. On the quality side, it should be noted that the canopy is noticeably thinner than other models, making it more brittle-prone. However, its thinner canopy is a good weight-saver. This kit also includes a motor and a speed controller. The motor, the 800 KV outrunner, has been upgraded to generate less heat and consume less power.
As for the battery, the Hurricane draws its required 22.2 V from two 11.1V packs. Personally, I think this is a very smart way to implement its power system - unlike the T-Rex 600 which requires a whole new expensive battery pack.
The wooden blade that comes included with the kit is already sufficient. However, for modelers who would like something different, this model can take any blades that is suitable for a .32 size nitro helicopter; namely blades from the 470-550 size.
In Flight:
In flight the Hurricane 550 proves an able helicopter. Beginner to intermediate pilots should find that this model is great fun to fly, nimble and crisp. It is not as aggressive and the T-REX 600, but then again, you wouldn't want to push this model to fly out the most demanding 3D maneuver as the swash plate is made of plastic. As for the flight time, this model can stay in the air for 8 minutes of ordinary flight and 5 minutes of 3D flight. All in all, although this model doesn't come with the aluminum tails, carbon bodies, and the shiny accessories of the T-REX, it is definitely worth its price.

Electric RC Helicopters - Venom Ozone - An Attractive Model For Beginners and Experienced RC Pilots

The advent of electric RC helicopters introduced dramatic changes to radio control aviation, all of them for the better. Electric models made it possible for aspiring RC pilots to fly helicopters free from the drawbacks that kept many from taking up the sport. Before electric RC helicopters, it was common to spend upwards of $1000 for a gas-powered model. These came in kit form and took long hours and no small degree of manual dexterity to assemble. Because of the very steep learning curve associated with them, many more hours had to be spent building flight skills. While struggling to learn to fly, costly crashes were a given and maintenance was also expensive and time-consuming. It is no wonder that flying radio control helicopters was once the hobby of the well-off, aeronautically-inclined, intrepid few.
Electric RC helicopters changed all that and in the process brought so many newcomers to RC flying that it is the fastest growing segment in air modeling, even rivaling RC airplanes in popularity. Far more reliable than gassers, good quality electrics are available in the $100-$200 price range. They are much easier to master and virtually maintenance-free. Less noisy and also non-polluting, electrics can be flown in a variety of places other than RC club fields. Unlike big gas models, smaller electric RC helicopters can be flown indoors, thus freeing pilots from the tyranny of weather and wind conditions.
If you are ready to start flying electric RC helicopters, the Venom Ozone is great for beginners but also serious enough for intermediate fliers. The Ozone's coaxial counter-rotating blade design provides excellent stability, making it easy but also fun to fly. Durable and crash-resistant, the Ozone is Ready to Fly and comes with model assembled, 3-channel radio, LiPo battery pack and charger - all you supply is 4 AA batteries. Due to its size and light weight, the Ozone is easily affected by air currents and is primarily for indoors, though it can be flown outside when winds are calm. Priced at well-under $100, Venom's Ozone is a beginner electric RC helicopter with enough performance kick to keep you coming back once past the novice stage.

The Top Game Consoles - Microsoft Xbox 360

It seems that people today are not bothered with the economic slowdown when it comes to buying game consoles. In fact, Microsoft Xbox 360 reached almost 30.2 million units sold just a few years after it was released in the market.
It is a fact that a lot of people today are very busy with their own work schedules, but nothing can stop them from playing their favorite games. This helps them fight stress caused by their hectic schedules and games also help them have a memorable bonding experience with their families.
The advent of the modern technology allowed us to play games in a much different level compared to games that are played 30 years ago. Mind-blowing graphics, ear-splitting audio and monstrous processing power are the main features of the top consoles today like Xbox 360.
Aside from these things, the controllers which are far from comparable with the controllers before helps us enjoy the games better. Racing wheels, instruments, weapons, and even motion sensing controllers made games a lot more interactive and enjoyable.
Xbox 360 is said to be the console with the largest number of games that can be played. Microsoft was able to amass hundreds of game developers to help them provide games for both hardcore and casual gamers. They are also popular because of some of the best-selling games like Call of Duty and Halo.
When it comes to power, Xbox 360 can be considered as the top of the line. It uses three PC-based symmetrical cores with a massive DRAM of 10MB. If these things don't impress you, then maybe on online network that will allow you to play with other Xbox players will.
Microsoft Xbox 360 also allows you to download and even upload your favorite music, movies, photos, and even game demos to the Internet using its wireless Internet connection or Wi-Fi. These features describe what real modern entertainment is.

Battle of the Motion Controllers!

With the release of the PlayStation Move and the Microsoft Kinect, the Nintendo Wii now has serious competition in the motion-control gaming market. Which of these products is the best? That depends on what type of games you want to play and how much money you want to spend. Here is a breakdown of the three systems and who they are most suited for.
Nintendo Wii. The granddaddy of motion control systems, the Wii has a big headstart over the Move and the Kinect. The Wii system uses a rectangular controller with a connection which can be linked to a second controller known as a nunchuk. This setup has worked well for Nintendo, who has sold a lot of systems.
Nintendo has the widest variety of games available, as it has been around the longest. Whether you are into sports games, RPGs, first-person shooters, exercise games, or whatever, the Wii has a game for you. With the system retailing for around £150, it is a good deal for those who want a basic gaming system. The large number of family-oriented titles also make it great for groups.
The PlayStation move uses a setup very similar to the Wii, with the main difference in the controllers being a lighted ball that sits atop the main controller. This ball is "watched" by a camera that then translates the motions to the game screen.
The PlayStation is a more advanced system than the Wii, with better graphics and the ability to play Blu-ray discs. Its motion-control technology is nearly identical to that of Nintendo's system, providing true 1:1 motion response. The PlayStation does not have the sheer number of motion-control games that the Wii does yet, so if you want to jump into a system that has a large library of motion-control titles, the Move may not be for you. The Move is best suited to hardcore gamers who want some family titles that the kids can play. The PlayStation 3 with Move included will cost about £270.
Finally, there is the Microsoft Kinect. Slightly more expensive to the Move, the Kinect is different in every other way. It uses no controllers and instead relies upon a camera to capture body motions, which it then relays to the screen. Having personally tried this system out, I was quite disappointed due to the noticeable lag. Until Microsoft addresses this, possibly with a firmware update, I would not recommend Kinect to anybody.

Mod Out Your Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 rapid fire controller is a definite need for all serious hardcore gamers. This controller, whether it's wired or wireless will turn any weapon into an automatic when pressing the button to fire. You will more then likely not notice any difference with weapons that are already automatic in the game.
Though you may not notice a major difference in the firing, this mod will make your weapon more accurate without question, as it decreases much of the recoil. This controller eliminates the shot per press weapons, by holding down the rapid fire button. You will have the advantage over any player that has to push the R Trigger over and over to fire there weapon. Now you can destroy your competition when you have a rapid fire controller for your Xbox 360. This controller works with most of the popular games right now such as Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Halo 2 & 3, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and any other game where you need to shoot faster!
So how do you obtain a controller with the rapid fire mod? Quite easily, if you are swift with electronics and have some skills with soldering, you can buy a tool kit and install the rapid fire mod yourself. This is an excellent way to make some extra money, by tweaking and/or modding controllers and selling them to others who don't know or have the knowledge to do the modding themselves. The mod tool kits usually come with a pre-programmed microchip, a transistor, resistors, 2 buttons and wire. If you do not feel safe or comfortable performing this operation, there are several people and merchants who distribute the Xbox 360 controllers that have the mod pre-installed or will mod your controller for you.
The rapid fire modded controllers are well worth getting, you may have to pay a little extra for them, or put some work into making them modded. But the end result is well worth the little extra money or time you invest to obtain this modded controller.

Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console Review

Writing reviews is my enjoyment so I decided to check out the Xbox bundles. I'm always interested in saving money, so I wanted to look at the older (but still available to buy) Xbox bundles.
I've played video games before but I didn't pay much attention. I just figured they were all the same and that you should just buy according to price alone.
Turns out it's a complicated area so I decided to really take a long hard look so I could really delve into the particulars to buy the best game console on the market. After much consideration, I chose the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console.
Released in the Fall of 2009 to coincide with the release of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game, this Xbox bundle really caught on. Many people were surprised.
There have been several Xbox 360 Limited Edition consoles over the years:
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • The Dark Knight
  • Halo 3
  • Red Xbox 360
  • The Simpsons
Just to name a few. But none of them had a 250gb HDD. The Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition console is the only one to have this feature.
It also comes standard with a pair of regular Xbox 360 Elite controllers and it's branded with the Modern Warfare 2 logo etc. Very nice-looking design and awesome fun.
250GB Hard Drive
The 250 GB harddrive is great. One user reports having two older Xbox consoles with only a 20gb hard drive. He says that it was a struggle to find room on those tiny 20gb drives for new titles, videos, and mp3s.
Frequently there was no other choice than to simply delete the old stuff, even though it had already been paid for. There was just no room left on the 20gb drive.
After getting this console and transferring all the stuff from his 20gb drive, the Xbox 250gb HDD still had tons of room left on it. A bigger drive also makes gameplay go more smooth. It also helps to keep the noise down.
It's worth noting here that a data transfer kit is available for around $20 from Amazon.
Two Black Wireless Controllers
This Xbox360 console includes two black wireless controllers. They are battery operated. An Xbox 360 Charge Base is available for $24.99 from Amazon. Sleek black, it matches this console and the two black wireless controllers fit snugly into the charging base during recharging.
Having two controllers is good for families. Your kids won't have to fight over who gets to play next. Two can play at the same time.
COLOR (ALL BLACK)
This edition comes in all-black. The Modern Warfare 2 branding is very attractive. It has a military look - gun metal and camouflage styling throughout. Unlike other Xbox units it fits very nicely with the usual other all-black electronics you may have (e.g. large-screen TV, home theater sound system, cable television box, cable modem etc.)
CHIPSET/CPU
This Xbox uses the Jasper CPU on the unit's motherboard. It is smaller than previous CPUs used. It runs cooler, so your Xbox will use less electricity (more environmentally green friendly) plus last longer. The Red Ring of Death (RROD) problem is likely to be minimized if not eliminated completely. It also makes it quieter.
How Much Does It Cost?
It originally cost $399 - current prices start at $490. You're better off buying it used for around $250.
What's Included
  • 250GB HD
  • 2 Black Wireless Controllers
  • 1 Black Xbox 360 Wired Headset
  • Ethernet Cable
  • 1 Xbox 360 Composite A/V cable
Do You Get Any Warranty?
Yes, the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console warranty is one year.
What Others Say
This Xbox bundle got great reviews from buyers. It got 4.5 out of 5 from reviewers on Amazon.
These are some actual comments:
"Worth the money so far..."
"...if you do the "math", the bundle is a pretty good deal..."
"SIMPLY AMAZING!... HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!"
"...having the game [Modern Warfare 2] and two controllers for me was the way to go..."
"I love this console, it runs smooth and i haven't had any problems..."
Any Negative Feedback From Buyers?
There are a few complaints for this Xbox bundle online. Someone said the controllers felt like cheap plastic but someone else said they're exactly the same as earlier Xbox controllers and they don't feel cheap at all.
Where Can You Buy the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console?
You can buy this Xbox 360 Limited Edition Console from 3rd-party sellers via Amazon. It was introduced as a special bundle in Fall 2009.
Where Can You Read More Reviews for the Xbox360 MW2 Limited Edition Console?
Amazon is the best source of real-world reviews from actual buyers of the product.

Controllers? Where We're Going We Don't Need Controllers

Microsoft has finally confirmed plans to launch the company's motion sensing peripheral known as Project Natal this October 2010.
Project Natal is a code name for a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. What I don't get is shouldn't that be CFGAEE? Too bad that doesn't mean anything. Will have to work on that and get back to you.
So yeah the Xbox is basically taking the idea of wireless controllers with motion detection one step further and then some. Why bother with controllers at all?
Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360's audience beyond its typical gamer base and provide another dimension in entertainment when it was first announced at E3 in 2009. So if you were to kick you would actually have to kick, if you wanna reload your gun you need to do the reload motion. Using my super secret powers of foresight I predict more then a few bugs arising when this baby finally does come out.
Microsoft Saudi marketing manager Syed Bilal Tariq was asked when the device would be launching in Saudi Arabia and the marketing manager had replied that it would launch at the same time as the rest of the world.
Tariq also added that Microsoft would be in a position to confirm an exact date at E3 in June.
We can expect E3 will also announce a new, official, retail name for Project Natal in June. Maybe CFGAEE?

5 Reasons Why Electric RC Helicopters Are So Appealing

5 Reasons Why Electric RC Helicopters Are So Appealing

5 Reasons Why Electric RC Helicopters Are So Appealing

By: Tara Soonthornnont

RC Helicopters capture people's interest since their very first inception. They stand as one of the most fascinating field of the RC hobby world. Very few can resist its charm. Nevertheless, not too long ago they also carried an extremely heavy price tag and required more maintenance than a ten-years-old car. To make matters worse, flying one required countless hours of practice and tremendous amount of patience. However, all that is about to change. With the introduction of electric RC helicopters, flying these amazing models are not as far-fetched as they used to be. Here are five reasons why:

  1. Low Cost:

Flying RC Helicopter used to set people back thousands of dollars. People had to buy the helicopter kit (which comes in hundred small pieces - unassembled), servos, engine, starter, gyro, receiver, radio controller, a hundred other equipments, and of course - fuel. When everything has been purchased, you still have to assemble it!

On the other hand, electric helicopters almost always cost less than 200 dollars with cheaper but better versions coming out regularly. Even better, most of these helicopters come ready to fly right out of the box. In addition to that, every necessary equipments and accessories often come included as well. Finally, by using batteries, the running cost of these helicopters is greatly reduced as it is no longer necessary to buy gallons after gallons of gas.

  1. Silent and Clean:

RC Helicopters might be amongst the most fascinating radio controlled models, however, one undeniable fact still stands against it; they make more noise and create more pollution than a breaking down truck. This makes flying around the neighborhood almost impossible.

The problem of noise, pollution and size is almost entirely eliminated with the electric models; the amount of noise greatly decreased while the amount of pollution vanished altogether. These two facts allows these machines to fly anywhere without causing too much annoyance to other people.

  1. Reliable and Easy to Fly:

With gas helicopters, countless crashes occur not because of pilot errors, but because the engine fail in midair. Who's to blame? After all, everybody knows that gas engines aren't the most reliable thing in the world. They also notoriously require constant tinkering to run smoothly. On the other hand, electric helicopters fly undeniably more reliable. They almost never cut out in mid air, even when the battery runs down. Moreover, you can forget about having to crank up the engine over and over. These electric motors will run anytime anywhere as long as there's battery. There's nothing more frustrating than taking your helicopter to the field only to find that it won't start because it is too cold, too humid, or just because the engine wants to act up.

Electric helicopter are generally easier to fly than gas models, making them ideal for beginners. Some model allows beginner to start out with only 2 or 3 channels to worry about as oppose to 6 or 7 that the gas model requires. Avid pilots won't have to worry though, as professional fully 3D-capable electric models also exist.

  1. Easy to Maintain:

Maintenance used to be one of the biggest hurdles for anyone wanting to start flying RC helicopters. Thankfully, electric RC helicopters tremendously decreased the amount of repairs required. These little wonders were specifically designed to keep the amount of fixing necessary to minimum. Therefore, repairs can usually be made with just the bare hands or with only one screw driver. Even more impressive is the fact that these types of helicopter rarely need repairing at all. They can survive most types of crashes without any problem.

  1. Small Size:

Before electric helicopters, indoor flights and flights in your own backyard were next to impossible. Now, they are quick and easy. Newer versions are so small that even flying in the bedroom is possible. The smaller size of these helicopter means that it is easier to transport as well. However, for pilots who prefer big aircrafts, there are electric helicopters as big as.50 size gas models available.

The advantage of flying electric RC helicopter does not end with these five points. With new technologies becoming available, these aircrafts are improving at surprising speed. All in all, it is not hard to see why electric RC helicopter is the fastest growing field of RC hobby.

Electric RC Helicopters - Tips For Maximizing Safety and Fun When Flying RC Helis

Flying electric RC helicopters is becoming more and more popular among all age groups, with new folks coming on-board daily. In fact, electric RC helicopters is the fastest-growing sector of RC aviation and may soon overtake airplanes as the preferred remote control aircraft. One reason is that most electric RC helicopters are easier to fly and maintain than gas models. Something many gas and electric helis have in common is the capacity to inflict injury if handled carelessly, so always take care to treat them with respect. Hobby-grade models have very high rotor speeds and the spinning blades are capable of causing serious injury - even toy model blades can hurt. To protect yourself, learn the safety rules and follow them to the letter before, during and after each flight.

You should always conduct a pre-flight check. Confirm that your radio is functioning properly and puts out enough signal for normal flying distances. Any loose screws, nuts or bolts should be tightened and batteries fully charged; check servos, linkages and control surfaces and make needed adjustments. It is best to work from an actual checklist rather than memory, so you don't overlook an important step. And if you are new to flying, it is a good idea to have a pro check behind you.

Beginners should not fly alone. You will be more comfortable with a seasoned pilot by your side and he can take over if you lose control. On the other hand, you also don't need a crowd around - it could be dangerous for them, and make it harder for you to concentrate. Never fly if wind conditions are unsuitable - it doesn't take much of a breeze to play havoc with all but the largest electric RC helicopters. Fly in open spaces, clear of trees, power lines, or other obstructions. When in the air, keep the copter a safe distance from yourself and others. 15-20 feet will allow a little time to react if something goes awry. Remember, even very small models generate serious blade tip speed, so do not come close when they are spinning. Wait until the blades come to a complete stop before approaching, and never hold onto to your heli when the blades are turning.

Plain commonsense, along with strict adherence to safety rules, will make for optimal enjoyment each time you fly. As you gain experience, you will become more relaxed and skilled, but don't get over-confident. Remember the safety rules, put them into practice and have a great time flying electric RC helicopters.

What Is The Best Beginner's RC Helicopter

First off, let's define beginner's RC helicopter. If the thought of flying a helicopter "in general" were intriguing, then a beginner's helicopter would require "no experience" and "easy-to-fly". If it is the challenge of flying a Remote Control helicopter that is intriguing, then a beginners helicopter would require "no experience" but not so "easy-to-fly". Those are the 2 we will be discussing here.

The "no experience" and "easy-to-fly" remote control helicopter falls under the category of a "coaxial helicopter". These helicopters have 2 counter-rotating blades that keep it very stable while flying; they are a mini helicopter and are meant to fly indoors. Like a full-size helicopter that has a tail-rotor to keep it stable, the 2 counter-rotating blades have the same effect. When you increase speed, it doesn't have the ability to want to spin in circles, therefore making it easy to fly, you only have to think about speed and direction, (increase speed, it takes off from the ground) (forward, reverse, left and right). At hover, it will do just that, fly in place. Add left and it will turn in circles, add forward and left, it begins to fly around like a helicopter.

Another beginners RC Helicopter are the single-rotor-fixed-pitch helicopter. Although it is not as easy to fly as the coaxial helicopter, it behaves much like a real one; therefore there is a learning curve.

There are training tools available, like training skids that attach to the landing gear, making a big "X" to help keep it from wanting to tip over, or there are flight simulators that will help also. When learning to fly fixed-pitch heli's, think about an inexpensive model with parts readily available.

You first want to learn to hover, as this is quite a challenge in itself. Stay about a foot off the ground and try keeping it there, you will also want the helicopter facing away from you because your left and right is the helicopters left and right. When you feel confident with your hovering, try moving short distances at a time, practicing all directions. Once you master that, try with the helicopter facing you, now your left and right are reversed from the helicopter, the helicopters left is on your right, and it does get confusing unless you've had experience with something else, car, boat, airplane.

When you master those techniques, then fly a little higher off the ground, maybe eye level. It shouldn't be much different, except flying close to the ground; you have what is called ground effects from the blades creating different airflow and easier for the heli to hover. The blades are so close to the ground, it is actually helping you hover. As you get higher off the ground, you "lose" that ground effect and it requires more power for lift.

Remote Control Helicopter - Functional Model Aircrafts

Remote control helicopter are model aircrafts that have grown in popularity in the area of remote controlled models. The first functional helicopter was introduced in 1968. Use of new technologies is leading to the launch of an array of new versions with notable and distinct features. These helicopters although distinct from each other are made to run with the aid of a hand held remote control pad. The remote pad is used to control the flying directions of the helicopter. Another unique feature of the new models being developed is they are made to look small than the initial large structures.

This type of helicopter is used in various sectors that include military and police applications, commercial Ariel photography, competitions by hobbyists etc.

Types:

Gas - This realistic looking helicopter is powered by gas and is considered the most advanced models introduced till date. However, this can be more ideally operated by expert remote control pilots.

Electric - This is the most popular models available in the market. It runs on rechargeable batteries and can be easily operated. In addition, it does not emit any unwanted smell or noise when being operated.

Mini - This variety is used more indoors and is powered by battery. It comes in affordable price range and can be operated by all age groups.

Micro - This model similar to standard types are tiny in size. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Although, the helicopter seems delicate however the outer body is strongly built using materials like titanium and carbon.

Regardless of the various types available, it is however recommended to learn or get trained to fly the remote control helicopter in a safe manner.

RC Helicopters For Everyone From Beginner to Expert

Everyone from child to adult has I'm sure at one time or another had the dream of flying a helicopter. With the advances of battery technology and smaller cheaper manufacturing of the parts required that dream is now possible. Now anyone from kid to adult, beginner to expert can fly there very own RC helicopter without breaking the bank. Everything from your basic hover to full 3D maneuvers can now be preformed in your living room!

Before you jump right in and go by the first RC helicopter you see there are things to be considered. The most important thing is to get a helicopter you will be able to fly and enjoy without first becoming frustrated. There are many options out there so do your research. My personal favourite and most recommend being the micro size helicopters, most of which can be flown in your living room! For those just starting out I would highly recommend to get a coaxial helicopter (there are two sets of rotor blades) like the e-flite blade mcx or walkera 5g6. You could also get one of those little foam helicopters you find at Wal-Mart or Toys R Us like the Air Hogs Havoc Helicopter. These micro sized helicopters are excellent to get the feel for flying and have a lot of fun without ever having to leave the house. Another great advantage is that the small foam helicopters will recharge right off the controller in less then 5 minutes and you're in the air again.

Once you've begun to master that little guy you can then start to think about moving up to a more capable helicopter with more control. Now for the best part, just because you need more performance does not mean you need a bigger helicopter. With technology how it is you can get a helicopter of the same size with much more capability. For the next step up I would recommend looking for a fixed pitch micro helicopter. Some examples of this size are the E-Flite Blade mSR or the Walkera 4#3b. With these helicopters you will begin to really get a feel for what it's like to fly a helicopter. You can go from a basic hover to zipping around the living room and landing on just about any flat surface and before you know it you will start to see everything as a helipad.

After your finished landing on just about everything in the living room you may be wondering about the next step up. Well this is where once again modern technology is your best friend. You can now go out and purchase a fully capable 3D helicopter that fits in the palm of your hand. For this next stage of your adventure from beginner to pro I would recommend a cyclic pitch (blades have variable pitch) micro helicopter. In this category your best choices are the Walkera 4G3 or the Walkera 4G6. You could also get the Heli-Max Novus CP however it is simply a Walkera 4G3 rebranded. With this micro helicopter you will be able to continue to master your skills with hovering orientation and landings. Once you are a master at these basic skills you can then move up to more advanced maneuvers like aerobatics and inverted flying (yes you can fly upside down even in your living room). With these maneuverable little helicopters you can even move outside on calm evenings for more space when doing those loops and rolls. Then once you think you're a pro with the helicopter you can do yet even more with these little guys by upgrading there parts for even more performance!

Overall there is a whole new world out there with the technology we now have at our disposal. Anyone from beginner to expert can get into the hobby with little cost and lots of fun. Micro helicopters have caught the market by storm and there cheap prices have got a lot of people into this wonderful hobby and I hope you too will get the bug and join us micro helicopters enthusiasts. May you have many happy landings and many more hours of fun and enjoyment

Please be sure to visit my website at http://www.walkerahelicopter.ecrtechnologies.ca for more information on micro rc helicopters and the walkera helicopter. Everything from there different models to forums and retailers of these wonderful machines.

How a Coaxial Mini RC Helicopter Makes Flying Radio Control Helis Easy!

Helicopters have often been called the most difficult of all remote control aircraft to fly but with a mini RC helicopter (AKA micro RC helicopter) that's no longer true, and even less so with a coaxial mini RC helicopter. These small fliers are a great way to bring youngsters to the fun hobby of radio/remote control copters. Safer, easier to handle and less expensive than larger, single rotor models, a Ready to Fly coaxial Mini will have you flying in minutes and having a ball right away.

A coaxial mini RC helicopter differs from pricier and harder-to-fly single rotor helis in important ways. Single rotor copters have a main rotor and a tail rotor, while coaxials have 2 mains (and no tail rotor) placed one on top of the other, and blades that spin in opposite directions. This arrangement does a better job of canceling out the torque produced by the rotors, making the aircraft more stable than single rotors. Other design features also boost stability, so that coaxial minis are as easy to fly as most 2 channel toy helicopters, but with lots more agility. In addition to hovering, going right and left and up and down, they can go forwards and backwards (some toy helis can't) and even perform some complicated maneuvers, just like big single rotors.

If you, your child or grandchild have wanted to fly RC helicopters, it's never been easier to learn, or easier on the pocketbook, than right now. If children are flying, be sure to choose an age appropriate model and monitor them at all times. Be safe and you'll have tons of fun flying a mini RC helicopter!

The Age of the RC Car

We are currently in a generation when people stay indoors and sit down either on a computer, on a games console or watching television for hours every day leaving us all getting fatter and more excluded from society. It is the conclusion of many scientific studies that people are not spending enough time in the company of others making the interpersonal skills of many young people underdeveloped. This is changing for one group of people who have found a hobby that is not so much new but more a rebirth of a hobby kids had 20 years ago. This is the hobby or remote controlled cars. This is also known as radio controlled cars.

When I was a kid we used to have remote controlled cars although these were quite primitive in comparison to the quality RC cars that are around today. There is everything today from the cheap RC Cars right through to the powerful and pricey petrol RC cars. There is something for everyone with hundreds of models with a price range from cheap and affordable right through to the enthusiasts dream. There are even extras that people can buy to customise their cars and truly make them their own.

The first car that many people get is usually bought for them as a birthday or Christmas present. This is often as a kid but it doesn't matter as whenever you get that first RC car you will be on the road to a new hobby that will help you get out and meet new people. Once people have their first car they will obviously get out and start playing with it. If you are one of these people then there is a few things you should know about RC Cars. Firstly they come as either electric RC Cars or petrol RC cars. The petrol ones are quite fast and powerful but be sure you do not top this car up with petrol like you would your proper car. The petrol must be purchased from hobby shops. You can also get tools and other parts to make your car purr before going out and having some great fun.

One car and a driveway is fun but to really turn this into a major hobby and to start meeting others you will need to join a RC forum and start to talk to others with the same interest. These often lead to meeting up with other people and racing or just driving your cars around showing off driving skills and your customisations. This is when this hobby starts to make you new friends and leads to a whole new life. Now that has surely got to be better than sitting at home along watching rubbish television of sitting in chat rooms with weird people you are never going to meet and even if you did you have nothing or interest in common with. So if you do not already have one then go and search for an RC Car today and take your first step towards a rewarding new hobby.

Rob Stone writes many articles on a range of Remote Control Cars including Electric RC Cars, Nitro RC Cars as well as the very niche Petrol Remote Control Car.
