RC Helicopter Guide

Radio controlled helicopters, or RC helicopters, are a type of model aircraft. These models come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. Some are made to for speed while others are created for greater maneuverability. The aircraft is powered by small servo motor in the center and operated by a remote control and antenna device.
RC helicopters are popular flown by hobbyists for entertainment and recreation. Although they take some practice to master, they can eventually become very fun to fly. Aside from flying for fun, they are also use in remote inspection, filming, aerial photography, and even policing. Specialized aircrafts are usually quite expensive and can only be bought directly from the manufacturer.
Helicopters are more difficult to fly than planes because they require the user to control the balance and thrust at the same time. Just as a real-life pilot has to operate the yoke and pedals, and remote control pilot needs to use both controls simultaneously. Some helicopters are made easier to fly by automating some of the processes, but customers will still need to learn how to fly them.
A helicopter is a far more convenient aircraft to have around compared to a glider or a model jet. A glider requires constant wind to fly, so it is not conducive for areas that are windy. Model jets require a large amount of space for level flight, which is a luxury that some people do not have. Helicopters do not need any space for take-off and landing so they can be flown almost anywhere. Smaller version can even be flown indoors if you are careful not to hit the walls or ceiling.
The average model jet has a flight life of ten to fifteen minutes. RC helicopters are much slower, but they can last for well over half an hour. High speed helicopters are much faster, but their flight time is limited to the same as a model jet. Most engines are powered by a set of normal batteries that can be replaced at any supermarket. However, high end aircrafts may be powered by gasoline, diesel, or even nitrous oxide. Although these aircraft are very fast, they are fairly unpopular because of their premium cost. The most popular helicopters have lithium batteries that can last for thirty minutes. Once the battery life has been depleted, in can be recharged so the user does not have to buy new batteries each time.

Electric RC Helicopters - Venom Ozone - An Attractive Model For Beginners and Experienced RC Pilots

The advent of electric RC helicopters introduced dramatic changes to radio control aviation, all of them for the better. Electric models made it possible for aspiring RC pilots to fly helicopters free from the drawbacks that kept many from taking up the sport. Before electric RC helicopters, it was common to spend upwards of $1000 for a gas-powered model. These came in kit form and took long hours and no small degree of manual dexterity to assemble. Because of the very steep learning curve associated with them, many more hours had to be spent building flight skills. While struggling to learn to fly, costly crashes were a given and maintenance was also expensive and time-consuming. It is no wonder that flying radio control helicopters was once the hobby of the well-off, aeronautically-inclined, intrepid few.
Electric RC helicopters changed all that and in the process brought so many newcomers to RC flying that it is the fastest growing segment in air modeling, even rivaling RC airplanes in popularity. Far more reliable than gassers, good quality electrics are available in the $100-$200 price range. They are much easier to master and virtually maintenance-free. Less noisy and also non-polluting, electrics can be flown in a variety of places other than RC club fields. Unlike big gas models, smaller electric RC helicopters can be flown indoors, thus freeing pilots from the tyranny of weather and wind conditions.
If you are ready to start flying electric RC helicopters, the Venom Ozone is great for beginners but also serious enough for intermediate fliers. The Ozone's coaxial counter-rotating blade design provides excellent stability, making it easy but also fun to fly. Durable and crash-resistant, the Ozone is Ready to Fly and comes with model assembled, 3-channel radio, LiPo battery pack and charger - all you supply is 4 AA batteries. Due to its size and light weight, the Ozone is easily affected by air currents and is primarily for indoors, though it can be flown outside when winds are calm. Priced at well-under $100, Venom's Ozone is a beginner electric RC helicopter with enough performance kick to keep you coming back once past the novice stage.

The Top Game Consoles - Microsoft Xbox 360

It seems that people today are not bothered with the economic slowdown when it comes to buying game consoles. In fact, Microsoft Xbox 360 reached almost 30.2 million units sold just a few years after it was released in the market.
It is a fact that a lot of people today are very busy with their own work schedules, but nothing can stop them from playing their favorite games. This helps them fight stress caused by their hectic schedules and games also help them have a memorable bonding experience with their families.
The advent of the modern technology allowed us to play games in a much different level compared to games that are played 30 years ago. Mind-blowing graphics, ear-splitting audio and monstrous processing power are the main features of the top consoles today like Xbox 360.
Aside from these things, the controllers which are far from comparable with the controllers before helps us enjoy the games better. Racing wheels, instruments, weapons, and even motion sensing controllers made games a lot more interactive and enjoyable.
Xbox 360 is said to be the console with the largest number of games that can be played. Microsoft was able to amass hundreds of game developers to help them provide games for both hardcore and casual gamers. They are also popular because of some of the best-selling games like Call of Duty and Halo.
When it comes to power, Xbox 360 can be considered as the top of the line. It uses three PC-based symmetrical cores with a massive DRAM of 10MB. If these things don't impress you, then maybe on online network that will allow you to play with other Xbox players will.
Microsoft Xbox 360 also allows you to download and even upload your favorite music, movies, photos, and even game demos to the Internet using its wireless Internet connection or Wi-Fi. These features describe what real modern entertainment is.

Xbox 360 Controller Repair - Do it Yourself

Repairing your Xbox 360 controller yourself, is it possible? of course it's possible, a little discipline, accompanied by a controlled approach and yes, you can save heaps of money and get your Xbox 360 controller back on line fast with little or no expense, just follow along.
Firstly, make sure that it is no longer under warranty, if it is just return it to the store you purchased it from and let them fix it. If it is out of warranty, and you return it for repair, they will charge you heaps, so better look into repairing it yourself, it really is no big deal.
If your buttons are sticking or even dead there is a good chance that you can repair it yourself. You only need basic tools such as a small Philips head screwdriver and a long nose pair of pliers.
Start by removing the 7 screws underneath that hold the controller together, turn it over and remove the top cover. Carefully lift out all the buttons and rubber pads. To remember how to reassemble correctly it is a good idea to make a drawing of the layout of the colors, etc.
Carefully clean everything in rubbing alcohol using cotton swabs and soft lint-free cloth. Make sure buttons and pads are very clean.
When you are sure that everything is clean and dry, you can begin replacing the buttons, pay attention as to how they seat, they will only go in one way, do not force. Replace pads, re-install cover and screws. Make sure all buttons move freely with no stickiness. Power it up and see how your repair worked.
Xbox 360 repairs are easy if you are careful, if you do not possess basic technical skills, better enlist a buddy, who has them.
As you no doubt will be getting a lot of use out of your Xbox 360 it's probably a good idea to invest in a repair manual, it will save you loads of money in the long run and when you become proficient at repairing them, you may be able to fix them for your friends for a small fee.

Xbox 360 Rapid Fire Controller Mod

The Xbox 360 controller with a rapid fire mod is a "must have" for all serious gamers. This mod on either your wired or wireless controller will turn any weapon into an automatic when pressing the button to fire. On weapons that are already automatic in the game, you may not notice a significant difference in the firing but this mod will make your weapon more accurate, as it eliminates much of the recoil. It allows you to shoot weapons that require you to push the R Trigger over and over much faster than the average person. Annihilate your competition when you have a rapid fire controller for your Xbox 360. These controllers work with many of the hottest games right now such as Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Halo 2 & 3, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and any game where you need to shoot faster!
How do you get a controller with the rapid fire mod? Quite simply, if you are handy with electronics and are proficient in soldering, you can buy a kit and install the rapid fire mod yourself. It's a great way to pick up some extra cash by modding the controllers and selling to others who do not know how to do the mod themselves. The kits usually contain a pre-programmed microchip, a transistor, resistors, 2 buttons and wire. If you are not comfortable in doing this, there are many people who sell the Xbox 360 controllers that have the mod already installed for you or who will mod your controller for you.
There are differences in the rapid fire mods available. A dual rapid fire controller has a second button that controls the left trigger to be used with first person shooter games that have the ability to dual wield. This type of controller is also compatible with games that do not dual wield. Some modded controllers also include a speed control feature that you can use to adjust the speed of the controller to your liking. Most modded controllers also come with the rumble feature that you can feel in your hand while you're blasting away at your opponent. A single rapid fire controller only has one button located on the bottom right side of the controller. If you want to shoot a gun with the rapid fire you would press and hold the button. If you want the gun to shoot normally you would pull the trigger.

About Modded Xbox 360 Controllers and Mod Kits

Modded Xbox 360 Controller?
Modded controller, rapid fire controller, turbo mod; There are many names for these special controllers that basically enable you to convert a single-fire weapon in your favorite first person shooter game into an automatic weapon. There are a few different types of modded controllers so let's take a look at them first. In the following paragraphs we'll tell you how you can get your hands on them and in what situations and types of games you can use these "rapid fire controllers".
Types of Rapid Fire Controller Mods
There are two major styles or types of rapidfire controllers: the button style mod and trigger (stealth) mods. Both are good mods and both offer certain advantages during gameplay.
Rapid Fire Button Mods
The first style of mod that we're going to discuss are button style mods. Essentially, the term "button", refers to the buttons on the back of the modded controller that control the rapid fire function of the controller. Some button mods require you to hold down the button while holding down the trigger on your controller to enable the mod. These types of mods are regarded as inferior to other types of controller mods because you always have to hold down the button for the rapidfire to work.
The other type of button mod is called a trigger button mod. Basically, this type of controller allows you to use the buttons to turn on the mod itself, as well as change modes. For this type of mod, all that is required is a simple button press to turn the rapid fire on or off. These mods are great for those that need quick on/off operation of their mod for situations like switching to a sniper rifle in a game, in which case you don't want the mod on or else your shots will be inaccurate.
That's pretty much it for the "button" style mods. Now lets take a look at their sleeker, more stealth brother: trigger rapid fire mods.
Trigger Rapid Fire Controller Mods
Trigger mods enable a rapid fire modded controller to have all the same functionality as a button mod, except there are no external buttons. These types of modded controllers can be activated in many ways. Most good modded controllers use the existing sync button on the top of the controller. You might be asking yourself, "On the sync button? How does that work? Won't the controller sync when you activate the mod?" Not exactly. These controllers require you to "tap", not hold, the sync button to turn on the mod and switch modes. Try it yourself: go pick up your Xbox 360 controller, turn it on and tap the sync button. Nothing happens. That's what's awesome about these types of rapid fire controllers, you can change modes that fast.
In What Kinds of Games are Modded Controllers Useful?
When most people think about modded controllers or rapid fire controller mods, they think about Call of Duty games like World at War or Modern Warfare 2. Most first-person shooter games, like the Call of Duty series, have in-game weapons that are not automatic but are single fire only. This is where the mod controller comes in. These controllers will transform those boring single-fire weapons into full blown automatic weapons with rapid fire!
For example, the M1A1 Carbine in COD:World at War or the FAL in COD:Modern Warfare 2. Before, you had to manually press down the right trigger on your controller and the in-game weapon would fire only once per right trigger pull. With most quality controllers, you can hold down the trigger and your gun will fire like an automatic.
You can also find modded Xbox 360 controllers useful in other fps games like Left 4 Dead 2, GTA IV, Gears of War 2, and a ton of others.
As you can imagine, the controller mods described in this article can result in a huge advantage when playing the game. They also make those boring single-fire weapons into something new, something more fun!

The History of the Xbox 360 - Where It Has Come From and How It Has Progressed

Xbox 360 Core:
The Xbox 360 Core used to be the cheapest edition of the XBox 360 which was later substituted with the "Arcade". It was released in numerous nations but, it was not accessible in Japan until November 2, 2006. The Core console came bundled with composite video leads, capable of only standard TV resolutions. It was however capable of the same high def resolutions (up to 1080i) as the other models when connected to a separately sold Component line. In October 2006, 1080p support was added for all models in a system update, including the "Core" using either the component wire, or the new VGA wire (although 1080p via component was not widely supported by televisions). You may also set up your own hard drive in your console. Unlike all other SKUs, it shipped with a wired version of the Xbox 360 controller, instead of the wireless version found in other SKUs.
Xbox 360 Pro / Xbox 360 Premium:
The Xbox 360 Pro, which is also named the Premium Package, is the same as the XBox 360 Arcade, and has hybrid composite and component cable, which helped a lot with the quality of picture. It also had a hard drive which you could take out, originally the standard was 20 GB, but then standard was 60GB. This was to save game points, your profile, music, films, anything. This hard drive came with many game demos, great videos and the arcade game Hexic HD for free! In Summer '07, this XBox began to come with a another motherboard called Zephyr, it had the most modern HDMI and better GPU heatsink. Although this bundle did include an HDMI output, it did not arrive with an HDMI lead. As early as Sept 07, the most up to date XBox 360s started to come with the latest Falcon Motherboard This motherboard includes the new 65-nm Central Processing Unit, making them more quiet and not as hot than the old systems. On 1st Aug '08, the twenty Gigabyte edition was discontinued and was interchanged by a 60 GB Hard Drive version at the same price. Holiday 2008 consoles were put with with Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Kung Fu Panda. Price cuts that were in place on Sept 4th 08 reduced the price from $349 to $299. The Xbox 360 Pro, following its discontinuation, retailed for $249.99 until stocks were gone.
Xbox 360 Elite:
The Xbox 360 Elite came with a 120 GB HDD and a matte black finish. The Elite shop bundle also included a controller and headset that was the same as the XBox's matte black finish. The initial release price was $479.99 USD, $549.99, £299.99, and AU$729.95. The Elite was put in the shops in Europe on August 24th, 2007, Australia on August 30th, 2007 and North America on April 29th, 2007. These Elites (and other Xbox 360 models using the Falcon) can be identified from earlier versions by a re-designed power connector and a power supply rated to 175 W. In 2009, Elite models using the Jasper chipset became available. These can also be discovered by their power supply, which is rated at 150W and has a 12.1A 12v rail. Holiday 2008 consoles were bundled up with Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Kung Fu Panda. The XBox 360 Elite's price went from $449 to $399 on September 4, 2008. With the announcement of the new Xbox 360 250 GB model, the Elite decreased in price to US$249.99 for consoles that were still available until stores are exhausted.
Xbox 360 Arcade:
The Xbox 360 Arcade substituted the "Xbox 360 Core" as the entry level Xbox 360 on October 23, 2007, while keeping the Core's cost of US$279.99. It was publicly let out by Microsoft's chairperson of Entertainment Devices division Robbie Bach to the Financial Times on October 18, 2007, and officially announced on October 22, 2007, although it was available in stores far earlier. It included a wireless control pad, AV lead, HDMI 1.2 output, a 256 MB memory unit and five Xbox Live Arcade titles: Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship Edition, and Uno on a CD, which also included a "Welcome Video" and several game trailers/demos. Similar to its predecessor the "Core", it didn't have a hard drive., which is required for Xbox software backwards compatibility. In Autumn 2008, with the introduction of the Jasper motherboard revision, the memory unit was taken from the package and substituted with an 256 MB internal memory chip. This was later upgraded to a 512 MB chip in Summer 09. Holiday '08 consoles were bundled with Sega Superstars Tennis. With the price reductions on September 4, 2008, the Arcade dropped from US$279 to US$199 in the US. In the UK, with the 2009 Elite price drop and discontinuation of the "Premium" Pro SKU, the Arcade price advanced from GB£129.99 to GB£159.99. With the unveiling of the Xbox 360 S redesign, the Arcade fell in price to US$149.99 for remaining XBoxs' until stocks are took. The Arcade was replaced at the US$200 price tier by the 4 GB Xbox 360 S.
Xbox 360 Super Elite:
The Xbox 360 Elite comes with a 250 GB hard disk drive and 2 wireless controllers on special limited editions of the console. Also called the Xbox 360 Super Elite the console retailed at US$399.99, GB£249.99 and AU$599.00 as of 10/11/09. A Call of Duty: MW2 bundle included a great limited version black console with Modern Warfare 2 branding. Other bundles included a basic Elite finish and arrived with 1 or 2 games, with some you got Forza Motorsport 3, and with others you could get Halo 3 and ODST. In March '10 - when Final Fantasy XIII came out, they released another bundle which was the same as the Call of Duty one, but came with a FFXIII game instead. Unlike other Super Elites, this XBox and its accessories were the same white colour scheme as "Pro" models. This bundle also has exclusive downloadable items so that you can dress up your avatar, and had a special branded HDD. In April 2010, a Splinter Cell: Conviction Super Elite bundle with special print on the XBox and the same extras as the other packages was brought out along side the Splinter Cell: Conviction game.

Battle of the Motion Controllers!

With the release of the PlayStation Move and the Microsoft Kinect, the Nintendo Wii now has serious competition in the motion-control gaming market. Which of these products is the best? That depends on what type of games you want to play and how much money you want to spend. Here is a breakdown of the three systems and who they are most suited for.
Nintendo Wii. The granddaddy of motion control systems, the Wii has a big headstart over the Move and the Kinect. The Wii system uses a rectangular controller with a connection which can be linked to a second controller known as a nunchuk. This setup has worked well for Nintendo, who has sold a lot of systems.
Nintendo has the widest variety of games available, as it has been around the longest. Whether you are into sports games, RPGs, first-person shooters, exercise games, or whatever, the Wii has a game for you. With the system retailing for around £150, it is a good deal for those who want a basic gaming system. The large number of family-oriented titles also make it great for groups.
The PlayStation move uses a setup very similar to the Wii, with the main difference in the controllers being a lighted ball that sits atop the main controller. This ball is "watched" by a camera that then translates the motions to the game screen.
The PlayStation is a more advanced system than the Wii, with better graphics and the ability to play Blu-ray discs. Its motion-control technology is nearly identical to that of Nintendo's system, providing true 1:1 motion response. The PlayStation does not have the sheer number of motion-control games that the Wii does yet, so if you want to jump into a system that has a large library of motion-control titles, the Move may not be for you. The Move is best suited to hardcore gamers who want some family titles that the kids can play. The PlayStation 3 with Move included will cost about £270.
Finally, there is the Microsoft Kinect. Slightly more expensive to the Move, the Kinect is different in every other way. It uses no controllers and instead relies upon a camera to capture body motions, which it then relays to the screen. Having personally tried this system out, I was quite disappointed due to the noticeable lag. Until Microsoft addresses this, possibly with a firmware update, I would not recommend Kinect to anybody.

Mod Out Your Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 rapid fire controller is a definite need for all serious hardcore gamers. This controller, whether it's wired or wireless will turn any weapon into an automatic when pressing the button to fire. You will more then likely not notice any difference with weapons that are already automatic in the game.
Though you may not notice a major difference in the firing, this mod will make your weapon more accurate without question, as it decreases much of the recoil. This controller eliminates the shot per press weapons, by holding down the rapid fire button. You will have the advantage over any player that has to push the R Trigger over and over to fire there weapon. Now you can destroy your competition when you have a rapid fire controller for your Xbox 360. This controller works with most of the popular games right now such as Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Halo 2 & 3, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and any other game where you need to shoot faster!
So how do you obtain a controller with the rapid fire mod? Quite easily, if you are swift with electronics and have some skills with soldering, you can buy a tool kit and install the rapid fire mod yourself. This is an excellent way to make some extra money, by tweaking and/or modding controllers and selling them to others who don't know or have the knowledge to do the modding themselves. The mod tool kits usually come with a pre-programmed microchip, a transistor, resistors, 2 buttons and wire. If you do not feel safe or comfortable performing this operation, there are several people and merchants who distribute the Xbox 360 controllers that have the mod pre-installed or will mod your controller for you.
The rapid fire modded controllers are well worth getting, you may have to pay a little extra for them, or put some work into making them modded. But the end result is well worth the little extra money or time you invest to obtain this modded controller.
