









Doug's other hobby is building and sailing R/C sailboats. (see picture below) The craft are sailed at Westmoreland Casting Pond and at the Tualatin Meadows pond in Tualatin. These vessels are mostly built from scratch and can take years to build. The John Alden 1925 Schooner shown below is a sistership of the vintage Malabar-6 full scale vessel sailed in the 20's. You have to see the detail in this vessel to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this model. The model is 50 inches long not counting the bowsprit or the spanker.
